All details of the new Lexus IS
Until now we had only seen the new Lexus IS with F-Sport kit risky, and American settings. Now we have the details of the new range for Spain, and the first shots of the models for Europe, with plates built into the front.
And what until now seemed a monolithic grille and exaggerated to some eyes, thanks to its heaviness broken license plate that divides it into two parts. Versions "no F-Sport" also play less risks with bumper volumes, though to us it continues to motivate more sporty aerodynamic kit.
But the big star in sales, Lexus hopes will be the IS 300h. It has a 2.5 liter petrol four-cylinder, mated to the hybrid system of the house, and a CVT gearbox. Taken together offer 220 horsepower, with an average consumption of just 4.3 liters per 100, and emitting less than 100 grams of CO2 per kilometer on average. This will mean very competitive consumption when compare with rivals. And, for example, the BMW 320d "only" offers 184 horsepower, with a consumption of 4.4 liters per 100 kilometers. The Lexus has going for it in addition to the petrol engine is more refined than diesel, but will have to try to make an extensive assessment of their qualities.
The rear-wheel drive hybrid will be in our market, but in the photo gallery read "AWD", as these variants are, for the time reserved for North America.
Regarding dimensions, the new IS grow in all directions, with extra length 80 mm, 5 mm in height and 10 in width. The battle takes an extra 70 millimeters in length growth, moving to offer truly spacious rear seats, while the trunk and goes to 480 liters (450 for the hybrid space for batteries).

Your marketing will start in June this 2013, and so far unknown prices. What seems clear is that if the IS 300h works, there will be no diesel variant, at least for now. What we can hope for is an IS F engine "fat" to stand up to the M3 and company.
