2012 Rolls Royce Ghost
The feeling of sitting on a flying carpet, is one of the dominant brand of the British luxury car manufacturer. A Rolls Royce is just a stately vehicle owners should enjoy the best in the rear. But wait. For about two years, the 2012 Rolls-Royce Ghost is on the market. Clearly designed as a car for self drive. And yes, this Rolls Royce is an incredibly moving first and second active wonderfully agile car from the factory in Goodwood.
Encounter with the extraordinary
Even for a motoring journalists, who may go in more than 100 new products in the automotive world, the encounter with a Rolls Royce, an extraordinary experience. In the south of Munich, we took the Ghost with the standard wheelbase on a cloudy day, unfortunately. Powerful effect of the ghost, but not nearly as big as a phantom standing next to. Strictly speaking, the Ghost, however, shows light-footed and almost delicately if that can be at a length of nearly 5.40 in general terms Sun
The oversized hood and distinctive grill painted matte. A set of as many ways to his Rolls Royce individually. It may be true from what is reported by the company: each Rolls Royce, which leaves the factory in Goodwood, is actually unique.
Fantastic feeling when the feet touch the enter after the Ghost of the lambswool carpet. It feels almost compelled to enter only the soft and cuddly barefoot base of deep-pile wool. Nevertheless, the enjoyment of the related with the finest leather furniture. Whether in the back or the front seats that emphasized easily give lateral support structures and the deep feeling of being immersed in the luxurious landscape of the Ghost.

Performance more than adequate
12 cylinder find room under the hood, which seems longer than the width of the prairie. Based naturally on an engine of the owner of the factory in Goodwood. The Bavarian Motor Works, also known as the BMW Group. 6.6-liter, twin turbo and naturally developed exclusively for the needs of a Rolls Royce stand, as a power source.
After pressing the start button you should listen closely because there is not much to hear from the engine compartment. Softly babbling with the 12-cylinder 570 hp, the huge torque of 780 Nm, which is at 1,500 revolutions per minute, the Ghost accelerates like a sports car. Takes 4.9 seconds of the sprint from a standstill to 100 km / h For a vehicle with an unladen weight exceeding 2.4 tonnes almost phenomenal. Electronically limited, as is usual for the BMW Group, is the Rolls h at 250 km / The average consumption will be 13.6 liters, a figure which we reached without any problems at our relaxing drive through the foothills of the Alps.
The eight-speed automatic transmission from ZF Friedrichshafen in support of high sovereignty of the ease of sensory acceleration phases. Without any effort of this machine which transfers power to the drive shaft and guarantees the sensual lose oneself on a flying carpet. The air suspension packed in cotton wool all the road bumps and enhances the oriental-inspired driving experience to further nuances. Quietly cruising, or even sometimes hard to press the tube. The Ghost dominated the entire keyboard. The sensitivity of the air suspension goes so far that it even compensates the change of position of a person sitting in the back seat. But the damper settings are calculated every 2.5 milliseconds new, is responsible for a variety of sensors.

Luxurious Pampering
Individuality has always been very important to Rolls Royce. This applies to the selection of exterior paint as well as the colors of the leather and the various wood veneers. The possibilities of his very own Rolls Royce will be configured at will to the extent that they would fill their own books. It is therefore in this report allows driving to present only a small essence of it.
For example, the lounge seat against two individual seats can be replaced. Perforated leather for cooling air to pass though to be in these seats as well as custom massage function. More pampering is illuminated by the cool box with built-in champagne glasses fashionable. Space for glasses and related culinary offer obscenities into the back of the front seats, built picnic tables. Of course, with the finest leather and wood veneer, matching the interior.
The acoustic benefit flows over a 10-channel amplifier with 600 watts of power to 16 speakers including two subwoofers mounted in the car floor. Who says that in a classic Rolls-Royce just heard. Throbbing bass lines are also in vogue.
Conclusion
Such experiences usually end automobile faster than is really wanted. With a Rolls Royce Ghost, in the truest sense of the word to float through the countryside, is deeply impressive, and leaves an indelible mark. Traces of which still need to make room for the multitude of other vehicles that are inevitably follow. It was a fun escape from everyday life, as has Alan Sheppard, Interior Designer, Rolls Royce, so well expressed about driving a Rolls Royce Ghost.

Rolls-Royce Ghost
The Rolls-Royce Ghost is a luxury saloon from Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. The "Ghost" nameplate, named in honour of the Silver Ghost, a car first produced in 1906, was announced in April 2009 at the Auto Shanghai show.During development, the Ghost was known as the "RR04". Designed as a smaller, "more measured, more realistic car" than the Phantom, aiming for a lower price category for Rolls-Royce models, the retail price is around £170,000 (US$255,000). The production model was officially unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The 17 cm longer option Ghost Extended Wheelbase was introduced in 2011.

200EX concept (2009)
Rear with the door open.
The original concept car, named the 200EX, was officially unveiled at the March 2009 Geneva Motor Show, indicating the styling direction of the production model Ghost.
Unlike the aluminum-bodied Phantom, the 200EX was made from steel, which has a higher tensile strength and can therefore be made thinner. The chassis used an intelligent four corner air suspension system and multi-link aluminium front and rear axles. Systems such as Active Roll Stabilisation, four corner air springs and Variable Damping Control operate as one, imperceptibly, to provide the best possible comfort for occupants. Connected to the main computer, the suspension is able to detect the movement of a single rear passenger from one side of the seat to the other, and compensates accordingly.

The official name of the Rolls-Royce Ghost was originally announced in 2009 Shanghai motor show.
The vehicle was unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. Production model went on sale in September 2009. Delivery in the UK and Europe began late in 2009, while in other markets (including the USA and Asia Pacific region) deliveries began from the second quarter 2010.
Design
The Ghost was designed by Andreas Thurner and engineered by Helmut Riedl, who led the development of the larger Rolls-Royce Phantom. The Ghost, codenamed RR04 during its design phase, was developed to compete with vehicles significantly less expensive than the Phantom, such as the Bentley Continental Flying Spur.

The car is based on a heavily modified platform shared with BMW’s latest 7-Series,[11] called the F01 platform. The company concedes that 20% of parts are common to both cars. The Ghost has a 129.7-inch (3,290 mm) wheelbase, roof height, bonnet height and track widths all of its own, and the Ghost uses Phantom-style air springs. The car also shares the FlexRay electronic system with its larger stablemate. The car has a kerb weight of 5,445 lb (2,470 kg).
Like other current Rolls-Royce models, the Ghost uses parent company BMWs iDrive user interface; unlike the Phantom series, the Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament along with more functions, are controlled using the system.
